**Fractions**

As you all know part of a whole is known as a fraction. The top number is called the numerator and the bottom one is called the denominator. For example, it is a fraction with 2 as numerator and 3 as the denominator.

To multiply two or more fractions, we multiply all the numerators of the given fractions together and write the answer as the numerator of the resulting fraction. Similarly, we multiply all the denominators of the given fractions together and write the answer as the denominator of the resulting fraction.

In this question, we will simplify by cancelling common factors among numerator and denominator.

If we don’t want to simplify at the early stage, we can do it later while arriving at the final answer also.

**Word Problems**

If we want to find the cost or quantity or any unit from one to several, then we use the multiplication fractions.
