**How to Multiply Decimals**

To multiply a decimal by the power of 10 ,move the decimal point right as many places as there are zeroes in that power of ten. If there are not enough digits, add on zeroes.Multiplying by 10? Move the decimal point to over one spot. Multiplying by 100? Move it over two spots…..

## Let’s understand with an example

Multiply:

0.9 × 100 =

To multiply by a power of ten, move the decimal point to the right one place for each zero.

## Solve

Count the zeroes in 100. There are 2 zeroes in 100.

Start with 0.9. Move the decimal point 2 places to the right. When you reach the end of the number, add one zero for each place you still need to move the decimal point.

**0.9 → 90**

Write the answer:

0.9 × 100 = 90

b)0.67 × 100 =

To multiply by a power of ten, move the decimal point to the right one place for each zero.

## Solve

Count the zeroes in 100. There are 2 zeroes in 100

Start with 0.67. Move the decimal point 2 places to the right.

**0.67 → 67**

Write the answer:

0.67 × 100 = 67

## Check Point
